A few weeks ago, I received another reminder to be present in the moment and to live it to its fullest. A dear sweet soul left the earth. On January 19, 2023, Cal got up and did the morning wordle that he shared on Facebook. He was a college professor and needed to leave for his first classes in about an hour. He went into the kitchen to grind his favorite coffee and somehow slipped and fell.
When he didn't show up for classes, the college sent over a friend and colleague who found Cal slumped over the foot of his bed. Unfortunately, he passed away from an injury to his head.
Cal was a deep thinker. This is one of his favorite quotes,
